Sashiko Mending Thurs July 19 7-9pm

Sashiko Mending Thurs July 19 7-9pm for Adults

In this workshop you will learn the meditative art of Sashiko, a Japanese embroidery which uses a running stitch to make both simple and intricate designs. Historically, Sashiko was used as a method to reinforce areas of wear in clothing and quilts. You will be surprised by the new life you can breathe into worn and torn garments with this technique. Participants will be able to choose thread and fabric in colors that will make your mending pop or blend into the original palette.

Class participants are invited to bring 1-3 woven garments (woven=no stretch) that need some repair. All materials are included in the cost of this workshop.
